Saturday Stitch: Daisy Stitch



Every Saturday I will share with you a new stitch.
Today's stitch is: Daisy Stitch


This Daisy stitch is a beautiful stitch that would work up well when making a sweater. It would also be a good choice as a knitting pattern when making a child's dress.

Instructions

Multiple of 10 + 8.

Special Abbreviation: Make daisy =  insert needle in loop 3 rows below the 2nd st on left needle, draw up a loop, K2, draw 2nd loop through same st, k2, draw 3rd loop through same st.


1st, 3rd, and 5th rows: Knit
2nd, 4th, and 6th rows: Purl.
7th row:  K2, make daisy, *k6, make daisy; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2.
8th row: P2, *[p2 tog,  p1] twice, p2tog,  p5; rep from * to last 9 sts, [p2tog, p1] twice, p2tog, p1.
9th, 11th, and 13th rows: Knit.
10th, 12th, and 14th rows: Purl.
15th row:  K6, *k1, make daisy, k5; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2.
16th row: P2, *p5 [p2tog, p1] twice, p2 tog; rep from * to last 6 sts, p6.


Repeat rows 1 - 16
