Saturday Stitch: Twisted Open Rib Stitch



Every Saturday I will share with you a new stitch.
Today's stitch is: Twisted Open Rib Stitch.


 It's great for jackets, scarves, shawls, afghans, pillows or baby blankets etc. You need a stitch number multiple of 5 + 3. Repeat the pattern between the * as many times as you like.

Instructions :

Rows 1 (WS): k1, p1 tbl, k1, *p2, k1, p1 tbl, k1; rep from *
Row 2: p1, k1 tbl, p1, *k1, yo, k1, p1, k1 tbl, p1; rep from *
Row 3: k1, p1 tbl, k1, *p3, k1, p1 tbl, k1; rep from * 
Row 4: p1, k1 tbl, p1, *k3, pass 3rd knit st on right needle over the fist 2 knit sts, p1, k1 tbl, p1; rep from *
With this stitch you will be increasing on Row 2 and will return to the original number of stitches after knitting Row 4. Be sure you end with Row 4 completed.

Saturday Stitch: Ribbed Mesh


Every Saturday I will share with you a new stitch.
Today's stitch is: Ribbed Mesh.


A very simple mesh stitch with thin vertical ribs. Great in a light scarf or a summer throw project. You need a stitch number multiple of 2 + 2 + 2 edge stitches. Repeat the pattern between the * as many times as you like.

Instructions :

Row 1: edge st, * yo, sl1kw, k1, psso; repeat from * to last 3 sts, yo, sl1kw, k1, psso, edge st
Row 2: edge st, yo, p2tog, * yo, p2tog; repeat from * to last st, edge st
Repeat rows 1 through 2.
sl1kw - slip 1 knitwise
psso - pass the slipped stitch over

Saturday Stitch: Stockinette Brioche


Every Saturday I will share with you a new stitch.
Today's stitch is: Stockinette Brioche.

The Stockinette Brioche Stitch is another easy and fast reversible stitch, perfect for beginners. The only thing you need to have in mind is that as with any brioche stitch, the fabric will use a bit more yarn than usual.Stockinette Brioche Stitch makes a fluffy, squishy, adaptable pattern that's fun to knit and even more fun to play with. It's great for scarves, afghans or even as ribbing on a sweater. You need a stitch number multiple of 2 + 1 + 2 edge stitches. Repeat the pattern between the * as many times as you like.



Instructions :


Row 1 (foundation): edge st, * sl1pw with 1 yo, k1; repeat from * to last 2 sts, sl1pw with 1 yo, edge st
Row 2: edge st, k2tog (1 st + yo), * sl1pw with 1 yo, k2tog (1 st + yo); repeat from * to last st, edge st
Row 3: edge st, * sl1pw with 1 yo, k2tog (1 st + yo); repeat from * to last 2 sts, sl1pw with 1 yo, edge st
Row 4: same as row 2
Repeat rows 3 through 4.
sl1pw - slip 1 purl wise.

Today's stitch is: Lace and Ribs



A simple knitting stitch combining lace and stockinette ribs. Ideal for throws, blankets and great for sweaters.
You need a stitch number multiple of 9 + 10 + 2 edge stitches. Repeat the pattern between the * as many times as you like.

Instructions:


Row 1: edge st, k2, p1, p2tog, yo; * yo, p2tog, p1, k3, p1, p2tog, yo; repeat from * to last 6 sts, yo, p2tog, p1, k2, edge st
Row 2: edge st, p2, k2, p1bl, * p1bl, k2, p3, k2, p1bl; repeat from * to last 6 sts, p1bl, k2, p2, edge st

Repeat rows 1 through 2.

Saturday Stitch: Chevron Ribs


Every Saturday I will share with you a new stitch.
Today's stitch is: Chevron Ribs


This is a 3 x 5 rib stitch with a twist, added by reverse garter stitch chevrons in the stockinette ribs. It's always nice to have an alternative rib and this is lovely on a sweater. You need a stitch number multiple of 16+ 9 + 2 edge stitches. Repeat the pattern between the * as many times as you like.


Instructions:

Row 1: edge st, p2; * p1, k3, p4, k5, p3; repeat from * to last 8 sts, p1, k3, p3, edge st
Row 2: edge st, k2, p5, * k3, p5, k3, p5; repeat from * to last 3 sts, k2, edge st
Row 3: edge st, p2; * (k1, p1) x 2, k1, p3, k5, p3; repeat from * to last 8 sts, (k1, p1) x 2, k1, p2, edge st

Today's stitch is: Waffle Ribs




Easy knitting stitch with ribs consisting of small stockinette and reverse stockinette sections. Ribs are separated by single seed stitch chains. Great on a scarf, cowl or sweater.
You need a stitch number multiple of 6 + 7 + 2 edge stitches. Repeat the pattern between the * as many times as you like.

Instructions:


Row 1, 3, 5: edge st, k2, * p1, k1, p1, k3; repeat from * to last 6 sts, p1, k1, p1, k2, edge st
Row 2, 4, 6: edge st, p2, k3, * p3, k3; repeat from * to last 3 sts, p2, edge st
Row 7: edge st, p2, * p1, k1, p4; repeat from * to last 6 sts, p1, k1, p3, edge st
Row 8: edge st, knit across to last st, edge st

An easy knitting stitch with narrow raised stockinette ribs and garter stitch borders. Makes a nice decorative rib for a sweater.
You need a stitch number multiple of 6 + 7 + 2 edge stitches. Repeat the pattern between the * as many times as you like.

Instructions:

Row 1: edge st, k3, * p1, k5; repeat from * to last 5 sts, p1, k3, edge st
Row 2: edge st, p2, k2, * k1, p3, k2; repeat from * to last 4 sts, k1, p2, edge st
Repeat rows 1 through 2.
