Saturday Stitch: Narrow Vandyke Edging


Every Saturday I will share with you a new stitch.
Today's stitch is: Narrow Vandyke Edging.


 Add a little flair or a decorative element to your knitting, maybe to stabilize the edge to prevent rolling or simply make your work look more finished.  Great to use on a scarf, sweater instead of a rib, blankets and throws.
Instructions
Cast on 8 stitches.
Row 1: K4, yo, k2tog, yo, k2tog.
Row 2: S1, k3, yo, k2tog, w2, k2tog.
Row 3: Yo, k1, kpws, k2, yo, k2tog, yo, k2tog.
Row 4: S1, k3, yo, k2tog, k4.
Row 5: Yo, k6, yo, k2tog, yo, k2tog.
Row 6: S1, k3, yo, k2tog, w2, k2tog, w2, s1, k1, psso, k1.
Row 7: K2, kpws, k1, kpws, k2, yo, k2tog, yo, k2tog.
Row 8: S1, k3, yo, k2tog, k7. Turn, bind off 5.
Repeat rows 1-8 for desired length
Abbreviations
w2 = wrap yarn twice around right needle
kpws = knit and purl the wrapped stitches
